While driving, the dash lights all came on, blinked and then the car shut off. The clock had to be reset as if the battery had been disconnected. It started right up again, but I am afraid to drive it too far. Any ideas?

Check the battery cables to make sure they are clean and tight. Also check the terminating end of the battery cables (relay center/fuse box for positive and chassis for negative). If they are clean and tight, make sure the battery is the correct battery for your car and that it is properly mounted. If the battery is not the right family and/or is not properly mounted, the positive post could be shorting to ground causing the car to die.
After the car died, did the warning lights on the dash light up again? Did you have to turn the key off and back on in order to get the car to start, or did you just turn the key to "Start" and the car started up?
As many details as you can provide will help narrow your search.
