I have an '02 and Ford installed clips on the plastic cowling. Is something that you can do, just have some patience.

Dudes you won't believe this, fina;lly get around to opening the cowl cover, i look inside, THERE"S NO AIR FILTER.
These idiots were driving this thing without a cabin filter for gawd knows how long, makes me wonder what else is seriously defecient in the car.
was not to hard to do, there's a plastic cover that I had to unscrew two bolts and pull out to the right, there's a plastic part that is wedged at an agle, but it folds up, so just pull it out to the right.
surprised I wasn't getting leaves blowing through the system. GEEZ:iceslolan
