is a boost controller necessary

if i get a turbo and plan run it about 8-10 psi...i will swith out teh ecu and all mechanical parts...but is it necassary to have a boost controller installed at first as well...or can it run without it and i would add it later when i got some extra money???

just make sure you have the right wastegate spring and you can just run off of that. For example if you want to run 8psi get a 8psi spring and you'll be good to go. just remember when you do get the boost controller that you can't run any less boost than the what the spring is at, you can only go higher.
