ok so i broke my second crowbar.... this time i thought it might have somthing to do with the cold or somthing, it hasnt been run yet today... so i put the front end up on jackstands and got it goin about 60mph for five minutes, trying to warm up whatever would be cold in there.... and nothing, little bit more play, lost of more oil leaking (oh im trying to replace the seal by the way....) so i tried it again with the crow bar. at first just a little pressure back and forth while i turned the shaft. then full pressure, snap.... borke the second damn crow bar....
im stuck guys, PLEASE HELP...

The last stubborn CV shaft I had was on a Honda. I used an air hammer with a chisel attachment to get it out. Came out fairly easily with that.

climb underneither the car and with a short prybar and a hammer, once your below the cv axel slide in the prybar so that its in between the cv axel and the trannyand with your hammer because the small amount of room you have underneith the car hit the hammer handle on the prybar until it pops out.

originally it took me about a half hour to get mine out this way, when you put in the new cv axel REMEMBER DO NOT USE A REGULAR HAMMER!!! use a rubber hammer

some of the mid-90 mazdas can be a real pain. sometimes i'll just leave the inner portion of the shaft on the car and split the axle at the inner boot... but, since you're replace a seal you can't do that....

just pulling on the axle won't work, it has to be "popped" out because of the snap ring.

try this... works every time, but sometimes you'll need two people...

give consistant pressure behind the axle with your prybar (biggest pry bar you can find) as much as possible. then, take a heavy metal hammer or small sledge and beat against the side of the axle shaft. yea... the side of the axle shaft. the extra jolt from your hammer helps pop the snap ring out.

hope that helps
