F150XLT Stalls when breaking

My 2000 F150 XLT intermittently stalls if I break hard to come to a stop or trun. I have replaced the battery and it still stalls. I can restart immediately with no problem. I have noticed the rpm needle will bounce around when this is happening. Any ideas? Could it be the alternator?
