Dash Removal

Hey guys, my mom has a '97 Corolla DX and her heater/defrost/AC/venting system is broken. A mechanic said that it was the heater assembly "thing" that needed to be replaced and that her dash board had to be removed. They want to charge her lik $375 for the job. :( Can someone tell me how to take off the dash board so I could do the swap myself? PLEASE!?! Thanks in advance.
