98 contour radio,remote mirrors,map lights not working

i have a 98 contour which the radio and the map lights and the remote mirrors are not working. i checked the fuse box under the dash and the fuses are good. what would cause all these to go out at the same time. thank you i need fast help

same damn thing in my car, i had to run a new hot wire for my radio cause I couldn't figure it out, pissin me off!

Found this on contour.org with someone that had the same problem.
Found the problem, the main dome light was the culprit!! Damn blue bulb melted a portion of the plastic causing two of the metal contacts to...uh...well, contact.
Btw, all of these are fed by fuse 34, so I would double check that fuse seeing as its the most likely culprit.

thanks, I replaced my whole 'dome' unit out of a 95 SE when I got my instrument cluster.. though.. But I will go and double check fuse number 34 tomarrow. is the clock ran off this also? because mine is non-functional.
btw how the hell did you find that lol? I searched two days and didn't find anything except 'check your fuses'

well i just checked the dome light and it was fine, i didn't check the fuse yet though.

It only took me a couple minutes. :grinyes: I guess Im the CEG search guru. But yes, the clock is connected with F34.

thanks everyone that did the trick. fuse #34 protects interior lighting and digital clock but is also the link between the radio and mirrors and map lights
