Radio installation instruction needed

I bought a GM Equinox factory radio with MP3 support on Ebay for $42+shipping. I think the instruction is to pry open the center console bezel by inserting a thin screw-driver-like tool to unlock 4 tabs.

I am not in a hurry to put it in. So far the thinnest "tool" I can find is metal slot-bracket-filler-insert (the little metal plate you throw away after putting a new PCI adapter) on the back of computer case... I just don't want to risk mess up my wife's car and probably attemp to do it in a couple months. Any help will be appreciated.

you take off the cover around it and there are bolts you unscrew located under the cover.. anyways, there is no way you can replace an equinox radio. My equinox radio is the 6 disc MP3 but its broken so i am willing to pay 100$ for it but I called dealer and they said every equinox has its own unique radio. its like if the vin is carved in the radio chip itself. there is no way to reprogram it. only thing to do is buy new one for 1200, but i dont know how much of that is true, but if all dealers that i call say that, then most likely the stereo needs a code.

Chevy guy where we buy our fleet from tells me the radios can be reprogramed since they "link" to the BCM "body control module" to the specific vehicle after they are plugged in. But according to him used radios can be reprogramed at the stealerhips.

Nine months later, I swapped the radio myself (by pulling the bezel out by hands) and it "locked" immediately after the car was started. My dealership reprogrammed the radio and it is working now.
