MAF placement.......???

Hey there everyone, my buddy is looking for some info. he wants to know if you can move you MAF sensor to other locations, preferably down right behind the air intake cone? any suggestions comments etc.....thanks in advance!!!!

I think that is a good possibility as long as there is absolutely no air coming in after the maf.

nope the motor is a completly stock LT1 engine 1996 model.......thanks for the replies!!!!

why move it? i really cant tell you, i dont know........i think it has something to do with he thinks it will read more or better air if it is directly behind the cone.......but i dont think the MAF has anything to do with air temp etc.....just the amount of air right? he said he took it completely off the other day and the car ran but ran weird, LOL.........dont know what that means either.........

The computer uses the MAF to determine A/F ratios.
On my LS1 car, the MAF doesn't read air temp. Just the amount of air coming in.
Moving it won't change anything.
