Paint is all Tamiya, White primer under candy lime green pearl, Gloss black on top and the whole thing covered in pearl clear.

Still trying to decide on a seperation line, maybe flames or just a thin red pin stripe

Its made by AMT ERTL,
While not Tamiya quality its still a very well made kit, full detail, molded-open grille mesh, seperate chrome side trim, great interior detail.
Only comes with stock wheels though,

Sweet :sunglasse

Please tell us about those wheels!!

Thanks Bob,
Beleive it or not the wheels are those WAY oversized custom wheels from the recent AMT 32 ford kit.

They look ridiculous on the '32 but with a bit of flat aluminium and black paint they make a pretty fair representation of a modern big wheel version of the classic Mopar Magnums.

That looks absolutly smashing, love that green colour.
I still have one of those cans to empty on a car and this is just great as an inspiration boost.

 I would have never thought that hideous '32 kit would have such redeeming qualities :icon16:

Seriously, that'll sell some of those! I was wondering if they were AMT because of the tires.

Looking forward to seeing this one finished. The kit still hasn't hit the states.

Looks great so far. That's gonna be cool paintwork on that car. I'd probably go with just the red line, but the flames look pretty killer too, and would suit that car and those wheels real nice. Great work, man.

hows about a stripe or flames in a chequered pattern? just black and white chequer tribal flames. saw the same scheme on a mk4 golf at one o the german tuning shows. side hinged bonnet would look cool too

Just a minor update, I added a colour seperation in the form of a decal from an old pro-modeller kit. not sure if i like it or not yet, I think the whole build so far looks a bit toy like.... oh well, Im having fun with it.

I've also made a start on the interior, should have some pics soon.

WOW. i didnt know they were making this kit either. it seems like my local hobby shop gets the latest airplane kits and forgets about the cars:banghead: . love the paint tho!!!! im not sure about the decal tho, i think the colors fight each other to much, but still its looking good.

oh yeah and i see the beginning of an enzo in the corner somewhere!?!?the way youve painted this chrysler, that enzo should look sweet too. great job.

Hey guys heres a little update, first off is the interior

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v67/obscurepizza/Chrysler%20300C/xint1.jpg

The chassis with all chrome intact for a bit of extra bling

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v67/obscurepizza/Chrysler%20300C/xchass.jpg

These are the wheels after a bit of detail painting

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v67/obscurepizza/Chrysler%20300C/xwheel.jpg

You cant really see much of the engine once its installed other than the top cover.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v67/obscurepizza/Chrysler%20300C/xengine.jpg

Now..... heres where I need your opinions.

Should I stick with the flame decal for the separation line?...................

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v67/obscurepizza/Chrysler%20300C/update1.jpg

OR...... leave it plain?................................

Hi,

nice green touches on the seats and inner door panels !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If still possible, remove the flames decals, just green and black.

02-17-2006, 05:13 AM
I would get rid of the flames, but you should break up the black and green with a pinstripe. It would be difficult to pull a pinstripe that thin, so I would mask off the break point and paint silver or gunmetal between the two pieces of tape. Just thin the paint enough that it flows off the brush to leave a smooth finish (no brush strokes) or airbrush and clear over, just my 2 cents by the way love the interior.

not liking the flames. but if u look at the front of the car in the pic showing the flames, the decal starts with a red and white stripe. i think that looks pretty cool n would look good all the way along the car?

I actually like the flame decal over just black and green. If you decide to delete the decal, you'll need something to separate the two colors.

Lookin very nice in the two tone, The flames, in those colors, seem out of place though. This kit seems to build up pretty nice after all. Keep up the great work!

Thanks Andy, I'll post some more pics shortly when its finished...... never seem to have enough time to actually do it tho...lol

The kit goes together pretty well, rear bumper was spread at the sides and had to be squashed into place until the epoxy set.

Front bumper fits ok but has no real positive locating point, as you can see in my pic mine drooped a little as the glue was drying, leaving a bit of a gap.

Front of chassis was bowed down a bit too, exposing the the inner front guards in the wheel wells, had to clamp it in place and add a few dabs of epoxy through the engine bay where it wouldnt be seen to pull it up into place.

Only real bad part was the "glass". Its way too thick, has a scratchy looking finish and although the front and rear windscreens are designed to give a semi-flush looking fit...... they dont actually fit into the openings properly.

I cut the front and rear windscreens from the 1 peice window unit (after polishing them as best i could) and installed them seperately, leaving out the side glass.

Oh, also had to trim the back of the headlight lenses slightly before fitting them to the reflectors.... no biggie.

Regards, Dan
