i came home and saw that my prelude had its brake lights on. so i investigated it. the car was off, e-brake wasn't engaged, brake pedal was normal. talked to my dad and he said he had to jump the car because my sister came out after work and saw the lights on and the battery was dead. my dad jumped it and followed my sister home. the brake lights never went off.

any ideas as to what could be the culprit?

well my friend had trouble with this a while ago so this MAY be it, it may not be but here it goes:

A crack in his exhaust melted a wire that led to the brake lights and a backup override caused them to stay lit. Obviously backup as the brakes are important. he took it to the dealer (he didn't know what it was) and the dealer explained that to him, changed the wire for free and he was on his way.

but on the other hand another friend of mine's truck did the same thing and it stopped after a while so who knows...

we have now found out the problem and fixed it. the culprit was a little plastic ring that broke off one of the brake pedal accessories. the ring wasn't there so the pedal wouldn't connect and turn off the light. we got a new ring and just popped it in and one for the clutch pedal as well.

Some ppl hook up their brake lights to stay on during the day. Examples... skylines... they look much kool-er with their 4 round lights on... RSXs too... just like the skyline

Anyone know how to do it?

yeah i know... but i really could care less... what kinda cop would actually notice it? I mean they'd just think u're some car newb who's stepping on the brakes 24/7 (not picking on particularly anyone.. but like 'em chinese women.. LoL.. )... many things are illegal... but how often do ppl get caught?? <-- all thx to 'em donut shops!

I just want to learn exactly where to rewire it and add the switch..
