2006 Mercedes ML350.....5500 miles. The car came in flooded which fried all the control modules on the floor. The car sat outside for over a month because all the parts were back-ordered from Germany (go figure considering where the car is assembled  ). We concluded that the leak was coming from the firewall area so the dash and heater housing (that big black thing in the middle) had to come out. And after all that we still have a definitive answer as to where the leak is. :disappoin
So when you go to work tomorrow be thankful you're not walking into that mess. Wish me luck!!! :icon16:

Thanks guys. But putting it back together is only half the problem. After the leak is fixed I have fix the electrical system. All those control modules need to be replaced and re-coded to the vehicle through our laptops. And then I have to go through all the electrical connectors and replace all the corroded pins because they don't exactly like being soaked in water. But I can't complain too much because I....will....make.....Mercedes....PAY. :evillol:

Some people just have to much work to do. What you figure that will take you about 2-3days?

man i am sorry. but good luck. well as long as you dont have too many spare parts when everything is said and done... how bad can it be... only what 400 some nuts and bolts, another 100 or 200 other bits and pieces. well i hope you had the camera as you were working... a camera is my best friend during tear down.. the pics come in handy on rebuild.

Well the whole project ended up going smoothly. Spent thursday putting the whole thing back together. Spent friday getting all the control modules to speak to each other and programmed correctly. While doing that I found that somehow water got into the drivers door panel and shorted out the door control module....so now that's on order. So far I've clocked 23 hours of work on the car so I'd pretty much just like to see it leave but there are still some issues that need to be taken care of. :frown:
