slack in shift lever

i have a 94 b2300 5 speed that has slack in the shift lever side to side and up and down i've pulled the gear shifter out and cant figure out what it could be i dont think it anything major because once i find my gear it drives just fine

It sounds like your bearings are worn out in the trany.
My stick was loose, rite before the trans stoped working. @ 90,000 miles
I had to rebuild mine myself. I got the rebuild kit from Auto Zone. They are the only people that carry the rebuild kitt. It only contains the bearings, but thats all that was worn out on mine. Get this fixed before it becomes a bigger problem. If te bearings get to bad, you will destroy the sincros*.
