Glad to see I'm not the only one that gets zapped :) When it gets bad I will use my key to discharge the shock just like a spark plug.

It's not like it's a bad shock.GM put that feature in this car to wake you up when you get out of your car. It helps sober you up a little before you go inside.

Getting shocked is a good thing. Especially before you get gas. That means you have discharged any electricity that is built up in you. I don't know how you would stop it.

My Malibu shocks the hell out of me year round. I developed this sub-concious habit to hit the window with my knuckles every time i get out to discharge the static and it isnt quite as bad of a zap. Must be seat and carpet materials used.

one easy and cheap solution,, spray the interior of the doors with that product Static Cling ,, I believe thats what the brand name is, I get generic version.. Its used to keep dresses static free. I added subwoffers to my car and with the bass,,I really get a jolt.

One quick solution is to make sure you have your hand on the metal part of the door BEFORE you touch your foot to the ground. This should dissipate the charge without giving you the jolt.

I know that they use to have grounding straps that would bolt under the car and drag on the ground, for a earth ground, but i haven't seen them around or know if they actually worked
