Anti-freeze leak

Our 1991 Beretta is leaking anti-freeze from a hose that is coming out of the firewall. I was told this was a heater hose but that now does not seem to be the case. Does anyone know what this hose is and where is reconnects? Thanks in advance...

I own a 92 beretta, and I had the same thing, a leak at the firewall. It was in fact the heater core. I bought some heater hose and make a bypass loop, filled it with green juice and away I went. Luckily it was summer. The next winter, I changed the core, not bad. Easy on the $$$, like $20 from Autozone. Easy to change in my opinion. About 2-3 hours, it took me, an experienced soul could do it in 1.5.

I bet it's coming from a little plastic hose. That's the drain hose for the heater core just to the right of that are two rubber hoses just connect the two together to bypass the heater until you can get a new one.

The anti freeze is coming from your heater core. That is the drain so the water from the a/c that freezes and melts can drain. You have a hole in your heater core and that is the only way it has to get out. GM OEM heater cores were made of plastic so they don't last long. It is a pretty hard job to change, it is easier if you don't have a floor console. NAPA has them now made of metal to replace the plastic ones, I don't know about the other parts places.
