Investigating GM Windshield Wiper Problems

I am an attorney representing a client who was severely injured when he collided with another vehicle after the windshield wipers in his 1999 Chevy Suburban failed during the middle of a rain storm. I am doing some research to determine whether other owners of GM vehicles using the same windshield wiper system experienced similar problems.

If you have had problems with the windshield wipers of your GM vehicle and would be willing to speak with me about your experience, please contact me by e-mail or toll free at (877) 978-0700. Thanks in advance for your time.

Its a common problem. We've seen dozens of cases on this site alone, which would probably translate to thousands nationwide. The problem is caused by broken solder joints where the connector is attached to the pulse board at the wiper motor. GM issued recalls for several vehicles because of this. I haven't heard of anyone having an accident as a result of it, though. Most people stop driving when their wipers go out.

So Blazee, you just did this lawyer's research for him free, he better know what you just told him, especially the recall details.

Yeah, I thought about it after I replied, but he did come here looking for help and was up front about why he wanted to know. I had to trust that he has good intentions and isn't some crook looking to file a frivolous lawsuit.
