What the f*$k is that???

Our wonderful media creating a new & exciting name for a storm.

Thats all it was! Just a f*$king bad storm!
The damage was no more severe then any other storm!

So why do we need to have a new ominous name for it!
These clowns should be beaten with a stick for being terminally stupid.
I'm sick of the media "creating shit" to sell their crap.

The Panda hates the Media!!! :finger4:  :finger4:

The 'off' button is a really handy tool.TVNZ seems to pitch its news presentation based on the premise that we are all impressionable halfwits. And guess what?they are going to bor us all into a stupor over the next 6 weeks with huge chunks of pre-election'news'i.e. politicians trying to piss in each other's pockets.

The 'Weather Bomb'Knocked the aerial off Moppies roof...recon it did him a favour myself.

If we still had an Air Force,we could launch a 'counter attack' against the people who created the 'weather bomb'.A smart bomb, dropped over central Auckland could take out TVNZ HEADQUARTERS with no loss of intelligent life;)

The nz media is shocking. I can't be bothered watching the news nowdays, I can just find it out on the interet somewhere.

Has anyone else noticed on TV one, that they have to go "LIVE" to EVERY story!! Like with out 'weather bomb' they had to go live, just to show us it was raining!!, do they think people are incapable of looking out the window! They go live to court articles, and the reporter just stands there, and says 'the jury is delibrating' or something just as pointless.

Plus why do both channels have to have hour long news, it was much better when it was half an hour. The news was said quickly, instead of them making up pointless stories about some random guy no one has ever or will ever hear about.

Plus they get all the news wrong too. Espically the weather, they went on for months about how 'mild' this winter was suppoused to be, then they try and make up pathetic excuses about why its changed. They can't admit they were wrong.

Plus I think there should also be laws about putting Helen on tv EVERY NIGHT. Almost every 2nd story they run they have to talk to Helen about it!. Now with the election its going to be on even more!! They shouldn't be allowed to show politicins on tv except in set periods of time, which they give warning about. So the general population can then ignore them.

sorry 'bout the length.

Being that I was born in Hawaii, rain was an everyday occurance.

Here in Southern California, when it rains, there are live news feed showing the rain hitting the pavement with reporters amazed at this phenomenum called rain!

Worse yet are the live aerial feeds of car chases on the streets and freeways! War or starvation could be the big news of the day, but they'll suspend all new stories to watch an idiot try to outrun the police for hours on end. I guess all the sadistic people out there are waiting for the idiot to crash or some spectacular end to the chase.

This "weather bomb" sounds suspiciously similar to a "macroburst" which hit my area on May 31st. It's getting a bit deep out there, and I don't mean the water...

Sure, we believed them a few years ago when some very heavy damage was caused by shearing, streamlined winds called a microburst. It made sense in that a large area was hit by a wall of wind. We understood that. But now this "macroburst" is now supposedly like a really big microburst... Then explain to me how a 50ft. maple tree was fully uprooted while the charcoal grill stood not even 5 feet away. One house lost the entire second story and the next house was missing a few shingles. But heaven forbid that they call it a tornado... No, Southwest Pennsylvania cannot have severe weather. That's why the year before the microburst there was a tornado which hit in the city of Pittsburgh...

I think meteorologists are full of horse pucky.

Sorry, but that weather bomb was crated in Wellington. It came from all that pent up heat escaping from all that crap the politicians are speaking at the mo. It caused a huge thermal upsurge and we didn't want it, so they tryed sending it too Australia, except, like everything else the Govt has done, it was fucked up and ended up back in Aucks.....

I hadn't really noticed - cos I pretty much avoid the TV news - but now I think about it, you're absolutely right. They can't just sit in a studio and tell us what's happening; they have to "go live to a midget in a bikini" :p or whatever.

Bring back Phillip Sherry!!!!!

my .02

one word: RATINGS!
the news probably hasn't received good ratings, so of course they're gonna create some hype about the "weather bomb" of 2002...it's a marketing ploy man...and the sad thing is that it always works to suck John Q. Public into watching it...that whole "we now go live" bit is because it sells..." we now go live" really means "we have more live coverage of the 'news that you really want', so please watch us rather than the other news stations that actually give news that is actually informational" works without fail...much to my dislike..that's why i only watch it in the morning b4 i go 2 school because it's the only thing on my tv in the morning..i can't get sportscenter in my room so watch the next best thing eh? riiight.. i don't think that people lining up for miles to get tickets for a boston red sox game against the yankees is such a good cover story....
