How does a 4g63 compair to a budget stroker(4g64 crank, 1g rods 2g pistons) as far as perfomance relaibility strength?

Will the normal 2g pistons work for the stroker? I was under the impression that you would need "stroker" pistons. I would assume that a stroker would hold up just well as the normal rebuild, but you would have a little more power, but then you probably wouldnt be able to rev quite as high. Also, spool time is taken down by like 500-800 rpms IIRC.

why wouldnt normal pistons work? I dont know what the difference would be

The 2g pistons wont work. You need stroker pistons because the sroke is longer and the top of the piston will hit the head. On stroker pistons the pin goes through higher if that makes sense, so it doesn't go as high in the cylinder.

as far as reliablitiy goes, it's just like any other car, don't beat the piss out of it and it will last. you'll be able to spool up a larger turbo faster with the stroker, but you'll need the stroker crank, special rods, and special pistons. if you're already planning on a re-build it might be a good investment if you're going to go large turbo down the road, but if your not going for monster power, i'd save the money and go with a regular rebuild. just my $.02

Any set of 1g rods will work, you dont need special ones.
