what are street racing rules???

l saw on TV. yesterday 2 guys were arguing about street racing rules. and l have no idea what they are. so l decided to ask u guys..

what are they???

rules? there are NO rules.....some people race with respect, and some dont, thats why its called Street Racing. There are a lot of ways to show respect, its the way you drive, just hang around here a couple more days, and these guys will show ya racing with respect :) other than that, i dunno what to tell ya....

There aren't really rules per se but their are few basic pointers I give to every newbie. But remember these are only the ones I follow you in no way shape or form have to follow any of these.

1.Never Race In Traffic (This is the big one and the obvious one as well)

2.Never Race Where There Are Hazards (Ice,Rain,Cones,Parked Cars)

3.Never Assume A Spot Is Not Being Watched (The 5-0 are sneaky you should be too)

4.Never Assume A Racer Is On The Up and Up (Remember you are breaking the law and so are they)

5.Never Race When Your Gut Says No (Your gut is always right)

6.Never Show Off (It can bring a world of hurt down on you and your ride)

7.Always Listen And Learn (Many have raced before you and have knowledge you might like to know)

8.Never Assume Your Faster (That Olds may have a big motor hidden under all that rust)

9.Rice Or Race, Don't Mix The Two (This doesn't mean your Race car can't look good and your Rice can't be fast, just stick to purpose to start off with)

10.Try It All (Race as many cars as you can in as many cars as you can)

11.Have Fun (Remember racing is supposed to be fun, not a chore)

street racing =is equivalent to =street fighting

only rules are the ones you live by

and street fighters usually leave innocent people and crowded areas out of the mix
of course, in street fighting you can't really give the guy a thumbs up for a good run

l am not a street racer and l am not trying to be.. if anybody pisses me off on the street that time l would race. otherwise l dont go outside and look for race. l do speed. l do have skills. and l do have a fast enough car. and l dont have to prove these to anybody. l just wondered, ''man, they just line up and floor it.which kind of rules are they talking about..?? '' it sounded weird to me.. and l aksed here..

well l am not from US. l am coming from europe and we used to race on highways at night. but not like usa. there is no cars.. u can even stop and burn out, race from a dig on high way and no cops.. europe cops are not like american cops. so u re fine about it. and l had some friends they used to race in really heavy traffic and l always argued with them.. if the area is good and safe, l would like to race.. but l just do not like to and want to race in traffic, but l did before..

There's a rule to this forum, dont take offense to anything rice(er) says and dont feel you have to defend yourself to him, you're putting yourself below the village/forum idiot.

Man shut up. He's telling you what to do when you are out on the streets. Try not to be so single minded. You asked the question. He was just giving you a short and simple answer. And really, don't mind what ricer has to say. He's learning just as you are. He's not exactly what we would call all knowing when it comes to street racing. He knows the basics, and that's really what you need to know.

And truth be told, don't take an attitude towards the mods unless you have a perfectly good reason to, or you don't see something that's fit. Mkay pumpkin? K good. Now play nicely with the other chillens.

or rent some movies to watch for a couple days, one called, "The fast and the furious" almost exactly nails how street racing is in the US, and how they "line-up" to race, except if they focus more on street racing instead of a undercover cop or a drug lord, they would almost nail it

thats what l thought.. if the area is safe enough and no cops.. just line up and floor it.. but on TV. man they were arguing about rules a lot.. and l said what the hell are they talking about..

they also showed 2 cars were racing they were like 100+ mph. they passed infront of the camera and right behind of them a cop. busted. and 6 months suspended licence. l miss u Europe:D

1. rev at every ricer you see that has a fart can, and not a clean looking exhaust...

2. if you lose dont do a fly by

3. never think you are faster until after 2nd gear

4. dont worry about slang, there is none, just talk english and you'll be fine

5. dont show up on tha scene and use the F&F im a super cool snowman shit

6. no hazards, its just showing off

7. if u aren't sure, dont race...seriously, i almost raced, but my gut said no..turns up there was a cop about 2 blocks away

8. dont rece in flordia, they will impound your car, so will cali

9. dont use 'double clutching' when racing, its a DOWNSHIFTING technique..i dont think its possible to even do that

10. onay by these rules always...reread until memorized...then have fun...

o and NOS/NX/ w/e nitrous system will not give your car good hp unless precautions are taken. i swear ive seen so many fucked up engines due to nitrous shooting 100 shot on stock internals....

If i had to guess I'd say in Sverige (Sweden) or somewhere in the northern part of Europe.

9. dont use 'double clutching' when racing, its a DOWNSHIFTING technique..i dont think its possible to even do that



-Double clutching is pushing in the clutch after you have hit the desired gear to let the motor rev, then dropping the clutch back out. Usually works better in slower cars, wouldnt suggest it unless pinks are on the line

-Speed/power shifting-Never letting off the throttle, whenever you clutch to shift*You better be able to shift hella fast and not miss a gear
Also not recommended unless pinks are on the line

^^^^ all that does is ruin ur tranny a whole lot faster.....the power shifting part, and are you sure about 'your' version of the double clutching thing im not tryin to flame or sound angry if u know what i mean.....plus peeps dont race for pink much anymore, its too much work...all the registration bull crap....

Power shifting plays hell on shift rods if you cram gears to hard in my experiance but will shave off a few tenths if you can do it right.

I know what you're talking about with the rules.
Say someone with a slower car wants a few lengths to win in a money race ( I know it sounds like the show pinks but I have seen it done years before that show came out). Most of the time when there's money on the line I would back away very fast and never ever play with those guys\gals again, money on races= hard time if you win or lose.

Like everyone else said just have fun and play safe.

double clutching is useful for downshifting

say your on the highway, 5th gear (or 6th) just cruising. someone pulls up to you wanting to race. if you double clutch to 3rd gear, instead of skipping gears altogether or downshifting without matching the rpms, it will help out your synchros

these are two of the most important pointers you can get.

You dont use the clutch on power shifts.

I thought powershifting was not letting off the gas while you shift

speed shifting was not using the clutch.

I havent tried not using the clutch, but I would imagine its not very good at all for the car.

u mean where did l come from or what race l am? well l will answer both.. l am not german, french or spanish.. l am half italian and half kurdish(from istanbul). l can not say that l grow up in one place.. l grow up in italy, in istanbul and russia.. so l am completely mixed.. l came from istanbul.. and it is an amazing place.. as soon as l can, l will visit there again.. of course my mother to:D

OH BY THE WAY.. COPS ARE ALL THE SAME ALL OVER THE EUROPE.. IF U GOT A FAST CAR U CAN PLAY WIITH COPS, THEY CAN NEVER GET U UNLESS U GOT A LICENCE PLATE ON. :D BECAUSE THEY DRIVE LIKE 100 HP. CARS:D l know in istanbul they chanced all cars to opel vectra and renault megane. they are like 200 hp. but they still cant get u..:D

Yeah, double clutching is for downshifting but I usually let the car decelerate on its own to where I know I can comfortably single clutch into that lower gear; otherwise, if I have to slowdown faster, I use the brakes, rev-match, w/e...

Speedshifting/powershifting or w/e you want to call it is not smart without the clutch. Then again if you have a good clutch that you can stomp between gears it helps... Just to add... you can shift without using the clutch if everything is working properly and you know the "sweet spot" in your rpms whereby you can slide it right into gear. I wouldn't do it while flooring it or racing though...

BTW, those 2 "rules" above about "trusting your gut" and "not racing in traffic (or bad weather)" are the best...

I think one rule most people in this forum can agree on is you never in danger anyone NOT involved in the race.

I think racing for pinks is a F&F thing. Does anybody hear actually know anyone who has raced for pinks?

True, but if the car is beat from racing or has a lot of mods your going to have to part it out to get any real money out of it.

here's a tip, at leats around here, there is no street racing like you see in the documentaries on tv, those guys are nuts and i don't understand them at all

i guess they have to pay the bills or lose their car or something

i believe everyone here is just in it for fun

and racing for pinks was for back in the day when all you had to do was hand over the title, there is too much paperwork associated with that now and crap that it is unlikely anyone would race for pinks and if they do, they prolly lack the comprehension to fill out much of that paperwork
