E-85 fuel

Blending 50% E-85 with 50% unleaded for 3 months now ,,,,love the power
love the savings,,,love sticking it to big oil!!!!!any ideas how long before she blows,,,,,,LOL

No i don't, but i didnt think you could do that at all in a jeep. What were you getting for miles per gallon.

I'm not worried about blowing up my Jeep GC,,,,,it's a 95 with 247,000 miles
never check the mileage,,,burns $15.00 a week ,,that hasn't changed except little more pep,,,...There's a bunch of us that are now blending e-85
with unleaded,,,,,,chevs,,,jeep,,,,ford,,,,kia.....no adverse problems,,,mixing 50/50 which should give 35% mix aprox.....Here it's 40 cents a gallon diff,,,so the wallet doesn't take quite a hit ,,,that and the farmer HERE gets paid ,NOT
some oil company ..I hope everyone takes a look at this ,,,I'm sick of being held hostage to these a#* holes

Since it takes more Energy to produce Ethanol than Ethanol produces when it burns, you are sticking it to someone, probably yourself (in the back side) since it is our tax dollars that is paying farmers and refiners to make this stuff.
I think that there should be alternate fuels, Ethanol is not one of them. But hopefully it will pave the way to bring something better. I am hoping that BioDiesel will bring better results.

e85 fuel is a little harsher to your fuel system's rubber hoses and the such.

keep your eye on those.

E-85 can be run in your Grands, it can for the most part, run at 30% in all vehicles that run gasoline. I agree with watch your hoses, tho I dont feel thst it is that crucial due to the newer type hoses used today and in the 90's. It's true about the farmers, but then again it does get recycled back into the ground to regrow the next crop. It is better for the inviroment since the corn crops feed on the greenhouse, then when burned, will pretty much become neutral. Better than fosil fuels if you ask me. Help me if I'm wrong here....
