Holley does make a stock replacement: http://www.holley.com/products.asp?product=502-6
Brand new, cost 365.95 from summitracing.com
How does that compare to the OEM ones that you are looking at?

Thats the 670 cfm performance TBI holley makes. Thats too much for a stock 350, more trouble than there worth. I need the direct holley OEM replacment. The numbers are either 17087100 or 17087101. I need to know which one I need.

What a rip off!!! The two from autozone are about $270. I wish I could just get the # off of my old one to order it. There must be some other way of telling which one it is.
Thank You for your help.

I pulled the original TBI for my '88 K1500 350 (with AIR) out of the box and looked at the left edge of the front side (if you would be facing the front of the engine.) The number is stamped into the body as 17087101 with 0088 and JRA stamped under that (this truck was built in Jan. '88 so I'm assuming that's the 0088.) To my knowledge an '88 and '89 are competely identical but there were years that GM put three different carbs on the same engine in the same vehicle so there's no guarantees. Some trucks had AIR, others didn't. That might be the difference?

Holley also makes a direct replacement (reman) part number 66-729. Their website lists this as the replacement for both 17087100 and 17087101.

Maybe try going to the local wrecking yard with part in hand and see if they have something that would work

What do you mean with air. Like air conditioning?
Also the only number stamped on the TBI is 81549Y From Rochester
Thanks

How would I be able to tell if I have that... is that the tubes that are running out of the manifolds on some of these trucks. Thats probably the difference between the 2 TBI 's then. I dont think my truck has that.

Look at your exhaust manifolds, if you have a tube going to each cylinder on the exhaust manifold, then you have AIR.

No there isnt any tubes runing from my headers. But what would this have to do with the TBI? Are there any tubes running from the TBI for the AIR? Now im assuming that this is the difference between the 17087100 and 17087101. The 17087101 must have the the AIR and the other is not, Right?

I don't think that it has anything to do with air. Both the holley website and gmpartsdirect.com had 17087100 and 17087101 being replaced with the same TBI unit.
If your local autozone has both in stock, take a look side by side.

The only reason I mention AIR is that it's about the only thing I can think of that would be different on the engines (88/89.) It probably doesn't make the difference. If you can, peruse some junkyards (or see if you can get a manual or even a picture of sorts from Autozone) looking for the two different units to see if they appear different. I can try to put up some pics of the 17087101 unit I have if it'd help but it would be at least tomorrow before I will have the time to do it.

Thanks guys for all your help.

Sorry this took so long to post, flu's been kicking my butt. Here are pics of a 17087101 unit. I couldn't find any other numbers stamped on it other than the 17087101, 0088, and JRA. http://home.att.net/~georgia-dawg/wsb/html/view.cgi-photos.html-.html

just like anything out there years ago gm had multiple numbers for the same item, over the years gm and a/m manufacturers have realized that there is no need for multiple numbers so they condensed then down to one. when the tbi came out gm had one number for it but then they must have redesigned it and had another number so now there are two but both will work. a/m companies realized this and just have one number that will take care of both gm numbers and will work fine. and then down the road gm would have discontinued the first number. this still happens today. body panels are notorious for this.

Thanks 67malibu for taking the time to post the pics. That is my TBI.
You guys were right. It turns out there is no difference between the 2 TBI’s. But now I am faced with a different problem. The guys at AutoZone are telling me they can’t order the stock reman TBI from Holley anymore. What really gets me is that they can still order the 670 cfm Holley TBI. But I do not want the 670 cfm TBI because I fear it is going to be too much for my pretty much stock 350. Does anyone have an opinion for 670 cfm Holley?

As I posted before, it will work well on a stock long block such as mine (with headers, duals, new electronics, induction, etc.) But it did take time (about a month) for the computer to 'learn' how to deal with it as a Holley tech told me it would. It behaved just fine driving right out of the box, it just popped the exhuasts every morning while it was warming up at idle (they only issue I had with it - not a bonafide backfire, just mild thumps.) After warming up, everything was just fine. Tuning the TPS (had to drill some slots into the new unit to make it adjustable) took some time as well as dropping the fuel pressure to what the Holley techs told me (optimal TPS voltage is not what they told me, I don't remember what I set it at though - just play around with it.) After a month or so, everything was as smooth as you could expect. Everything is still fine after about five years or so now. It will, however, cost you about 1.5 mpg but will give you a little bit better top end (passing gear) or least it did for my '88 which is flat up there.
