Im looking for a vr4 and i found one and im trying to see if you guys think it would be a good idea or no.thanks

It has 110k miles. Engine, 18" tires/rims have about 2k miles. She just broke the shifting fork for the 1st 2 gears. It appears like there is no cover plate to access it like a good old 69 Roadrunner would have had. Knowing it will cost her another 2k, she still wants to keep if offered 6k. I live 85 miles from her or I'd get you some photos and go from there. The car drives great without the low gears and the turbos are like jet engines.

What year? And with a transmission rebuild in it's future, she should be shooting more around the $5K area. Still, it depends on the year. 110K miles isn't bad for first and second gen's but is up there for 97' and on.

I wouldn't risk it man... I know places that tow for 1$ per mile so for an extra 85 bucks you'd save yourself more problems.

well...shift forks are something to the tune of $300 a pop, and theres a chance that theres a syncro or 2 broke in there, which you can get a syncro replacement kit for 200 or so...so you can get out under $1000 for parts....about the labor...how mechanically inclined are you? the rebuild isnt terrible if you have an idea of what your doing (so ive read), but you will need to drop the tranny...access to a lift is highly recommended. If you cant do it yourself, its gonna be pretty steep.
