Our 90s I was told do not heat from mid vents only floor and defrost. After changing heater core and spending hours on HVAC programmer and actuator (which is fine) I figured if I use a 195 thrmostat and use defrost vents it gets nice and warm.If you put it to 20c and under in auto or econ you will get mid vents working for A/C .Sucks , I spent alot of time on this and thats what I came up with.Does your defrost work.

yea my defrost works just fine and that is what i put it one to warm me up...but it takes forever for my car to warm up(about 15-20min)...and its not that its not blowing out warmer air its just where its not blowing directly on to me...i dunno....its retarted if ya ask me

Sounds like there is another problem here. I have the same model and with the heater on defrost and set at 90 the cars is really, really warm in like 5 mins. I don't believe this is a problem with the direction of the heat, rather the actual temp of the heat blowing, or that the blower is not blowing on high. I just replaced my blown blower motor and never have had a problem with enough heat in my bonnie. Sorry I'm not more helpful, but I would suggest checking the heater core and blower.

Ya you should check evaporator core , sometimes it gets plugged up with even leaves but probably is very dirty.Ther is a easy way to get at it thru the firewall where the I think is the BCM ,If you take out 3 screws and pull it out,it has a heatsink on it and thru that hole is evaporator, from ther you can spray with a cleaner and hose it.The water will just drain out. Also you could have air in your coolant causing less heat, If it is heater core it is very easy to get at ,take off glove box , take down hush panel remove HVAC programmer (couple screws ) and ther it is pull off duct molding. The worst part is your 2 hoses at firewall as ther is no room to maneuvre.
