motor gone?

ok about a couple of months ago my car started like stuttering a little now its all the time. I have power and nly does when idle and acceleration. But when i letoff it sounds normal? Kind of pops a little bit but no big back fire. Bubbles you would call it from straight piping. its a 89 hatch wit stock b1 motor. it has a little carbon deposits(if you would call it that) coming out the exhaust. neody had this happe before. I just hoping its nothing big.

I had something similar, it sounded like a chopper on acceleration and was rough on idle, it was a wire..sorry but I dont remember which, that was coming off the distributor, I THINK it was some combination of yellow and black....Ill check tomorrow, it had come apart and made the car run like total crap, but threw no codes oddly enough.

how did you fix it?
