Who has subs in their Sol? What brand/size are they, and where did you put them? I need ideas and general input on putting subs into the trunk, since the ones I had behind the seats were stolen. But damn, that trunk is too small! Anyone that has suggestions and pictures, please post.
I'm looking for something that will work with my sony 1200W amp, and sound damn good.

well shoot, i dunno if im just been around some super-mini trunks, but i think the del sol trunk is quite roomie and has plenty of room for a sub. plus, hopefully for cheap theres someone around who can make you a custom box to make it fit however you want, or better yet a cheap stereo store with empty sub boxes.
in my trunk ive got a 1200 watt Rockford Fosgate amp and 1 Rockford Fosgate 10" sub (i think? not sure, just bought the whole setup from a friend for 100$! talk about a score) and a monster cap. i dunno what kinda box or how big it is, but at some point soon i coud post some pictures.
for me, fitting it in was even more exciting due to a rear strut bar that is literally located in the almost smack-dab middle of the trunk. but i was able to place it in a way where its wedged and absolutely wont move, and so that the actual sub doesnt make any contact with the bar (so that it doesnt damage the outer ring thang). to keep it in place its kinda ghetto rigged, using a large 24 cd case holder to wedge it in place. lol yeah i definately need to show you guys pictures now so that you can laugh with me and at me.
another thing to consider is A) whether the trunk will clear it and still close and more importantly B) whether the targa top will clear the box when it is locked into the trunk -- luckily for me its just right.
right now i have it pointed towards the front of the car, which seems to be working out pretty well because it bumps pretty fuggin hard, and you dont really hear the sub rattle the trunk that much, or furthermore, hear the sub that much outside of the car at all. as a mental note for myself, when it does rattle the trunk, its the top part of the trunk (the face of it?) that does rattle which im sure would be easily fixed by some strategically placed dynamat.
if i were to place it in the cab i would probably have someone make a custom fitting box, as to conserve as much leg room as humanly possible, because im 6 foot myself and im pretty sure the car wasnt exactly designed for big and tall. also, im kinda guilty of using the area behind the seats as storage :) and no i dont mean the compartments,...
anywho, let us know what you come up with... keep it saucy!

build a small box in the trunk. Or make a stealth style box where the subs are hidden.

I'm getting a kicker solo baric. 10" in a square 12" box will fit pretty well. those things don't need that much space.

I'm curious too, I have a friend working on a sub setup for my sol and I'm using a 1200w amp. We figure 2-10" subs or 1-12" in a custome box should slide just under the targa roof rack. We where thinking of facing it down with some legs on the box so I could toss crap on top of it. Also matching the color of the carpet keeps it low profile.
I dunno just tossing Ideas around.
