Any justification for buying a "salvage" car?

Other than the limited number of people that will have the nerve to buy a salvage car from you, when it comes time to sell it, can you kind folks give me some good reasons to not buy a car with a salvage title?
If the reason for the salvage title is some collision damage vs. days under water after a hurricane, is it ever a good idea to consider a salvaged car? There's a 2001 Acura TL that can be had for ~$11K with 58,000 miles on it. It is local, and I would insist on taking it to an Acura dealership for a thorough inspection. The seller states that the front right fender, hood, and radiator mounts were replaced, and then painted. I haven't seen the car yet. I'm really looking for some opinions and reasons pro and con.
I am stuck at just being "chicken" at buying a salvaged title, as the only reason so far.
Any positive experiences out there?
Thanks.

Sure there can be justifications for buying a salvage license. You have to be even more careful when getting it checked out, though. Only time I would ever buy a flooded car is if I was doing an off frame restoration type project. Would never get a flooded car to drive as is. When a crashed car you need to make sure there is no frame damage. Try to get longer test drives and what not, too.

Also remember, it will be harder to sell a salvaged car when it comes your time.

"Harder to sell" is an understantment. Try "damn near impossible". Dealers won't touch them as a trade, and, the vast majority of private buyers won't either.

id keep away from it. in general that year tl's were terrible cars. and if it has had that much repair work done, it isnt worth paying 11k. the transmissions in those are terrible and about 2k to fix each time. let alone the other damage
