p1406 code

96 ciera just did copmlete valve job
it loped at ilde and i have the p1406 code
it seems this is the egr valve
i took it off and cleaned it anyone know if replacing will fix the code and idle

If you cleane dit and reset the comp and the code still pop up.I would then buy a new 1.It should cost about 100$.I just put a egr on my cutlass supreme its a 96 and it was 130.Plus i put a new hi-flow cat on it with some flowmasters on it aswell sounds super sweet.
