I have got a 2002 seat ibiza s 1.2 12v. the engine will fire but won't start. have had a diagnostic check (not from seat) that only comes up with main relay intermittant fault but can't find where it is or what to do. have had everything else checked and the mechanic can't understand why it won't go.
Has anyone got any idea on what could be the problem or does anyone no where there is any data on this car because i cant find anything at all on this model car.
this would be a real big help
Thanks

My tdi failed to start and I think the break down guy found out that it was the relay 109 or 103 in the drivers side panel above the bank of fuses. hope this helps

My Ibiza won't start either. To give the full history, it was a bit rough and the the cylinderhead gasket blew. The two items seemed unrelated; any way now the head gasket has been replaced, the car just will not start.
We have replaced the plugs, leads, distributor cap rotor arm and HT lead which gives us a nice fat spark. The engine turns over, and will start after 8 to 12 mins of trying provided I don't flatten the battery in the mean time.
Some one suggested that the cylinder head gasket migh be leaking into one or more of the cylinders and the small quantity of water prevents it starting. If I can turn the engine overlong enough, this drives out the water and then the wretched things starts.
Any clues, or suggestions:banghead: ?
