Hi,

Last week my wife called to complain about the car bogging and the engine light flashing. Doesn't happen all the time she said. I drove the car and nothing remarkable until today. Same indicators, bogs, runs rough, flashing light. She also stated that only notices when engine cold. After test drive, I noticed this only happens when the tranny goes into overdrive. No codes. Problem seems to clear up after engine warms. Always the same, only happens when RPMS drop upon tranny going into overdrive.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

try this, run the car in "3" and wait for it to warm up a little. Then drop it in "D" and see if it bogs again. How many miles are on the clock?

Thanks,

The first chance I'll get to do this is tomorrow morning. I'll let you know what happens.

Okay,

Engine still behaves the same. The problem is persistent. More pronounced when cold. Drive in 3rd, as soon as I switch to D same, 86500 miles on engine. Figured when TC locks up, bringing out engine problem. Checked volatage on MAP sensor(back probe). Ignition on 4.5v, Engine on at idle 1.0v, when I hit when I hit accelerator voltage should jump to above 3.9v but does not. Could it be?

Thanks

first off, 1 volt from the MAP at idle is too high, so you definetly have a problem with that, which might explain what is wrong with your car.

I thought the Engine On idle voltage on MAP shoud be anwhere from 0.5 to 2.0 (according to manual). However, new MAP on board, took car out for drive early this morning (19 outside), and so far so good. Could you get back with me on what the idle voltage should be? Because I get about the same reading on new and old. On both sensors it's a fuzz above 1v.

Thanks
