hey folks, I used to be a member, but had a bit of a hiatus with working on my early '85 944 n/a. But finally, i'm back to the project and I have a question: I'm gunna be doing the timing belt and all that other jazz, but i'm not exactly sure what all that other jazz is. Figure i should get it all done while i'm down in there. There isn't really a time constrant on this, so if i have it opened up for a few weeks, thats fine, I just want to make sure I do a really complete job. I was thinking to do a front end reseal with this kit: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/944M/POR_944M_ENGman_pg4.htm#item19, but I dont know what else...new rollers? which ones? I dont know much about the balance shaft stuff, is that all in the same area? If i dont already have it (i'm not sure if i do) should I get the updated water pump and install kit for that? I'm making my shopping list, and sure could use some help. Thanks a bunch

yes, do the water pump. Check all the rollers and replace as needed. Replace any seals that are wet or show signs of wear. If it were mine I would replace all rollers and seals just so you don't have to go back there. Buy a manual if you don't have one
