I'd change gears on super charger to 3.4", new PCU, cold air box, wait I should ask how much money do you want to put out?

I would get a 2001 or 2002, the 2001 has the best reviews, the 2000 seems to have a lot of transmission trouble from what I have read, I think they strengthened the tranny for 2001. Also, I would stick with a 3.8L. the 3.1 has aluminum heads and they warp after time and blow head gaskets, I dont know what the 3.4 has but I bet it has aluminum heads as well. The 3.8 has cast iron heads, I am also looking for a 2001 GTP.

Like any used car check it out thoroughly and run it through the mill before purchasing. Ask for prior maintenance history.

Trannies on 2001 and up Grand Prixs are prone to failure just like other model years due to improper or lack of maintenace or owner abuse. I haven't seen any exception on any specific model year.

BTW - Most GTPs regardless of model year have a high probability they were dogged by the previous owner(s).
