i have recently changed out the spark plugs casue the other ones i had in were the bosch platnium 2 ones and i have taken them out and put ones i had intheir before cause the other ones were almost brand new when i switched them. so i went on highway and got off to go to store and at light the oil light came on the car was in a little rough idle. so i talked to my dad and said that i should try heavier weight oil for winter. i have a 91 sunbird le 2.0L OHC. it has about 130,000 miles on it. should i run heavier weight oil in it casue it never went into low idle in summer? wut wait should i use then for the car?

first, did you check the oil in it? And what weight oil do you run in it now? And it could be that little sencer on the oil pan, they go bad somethimes.

wow, since nov, that is a long time, and do not go any heaver than 10w30 you will screw up you rings fast. And the oil pan is at the bottom of the motor where the oil plug is. And the idle can be a air filter also. I would change it also. And if not changes yet the fuel filter needs to be changed to. And i would change the pcv valve to, you change them when you do a tune up. If you have no clue about cars, have some do this stuff for you. And also take your air intake box off and get some carb and choke cleaner and get a lin frr rag and clean your throttle body. All of this will make a world of diffrence!!

the air filter is dirty, i have changed the PCV already. and im going to try and get the fueal filter changed. i have to wait to change the oil cuse it snowed last couple of days so cant get the caar up on the ramps. i do have oil getting past 2 of the pistons cause when i changed the plugs 2 of them had oil on them. i did change the breather but oil is going onto it again. my dad and i were going to see if we coould get the idle turned up just a little bit.

First, have you ever checked to see that you replaced the ignition wire properly?
Second, don't waste your money on the Bosch spark plugs. Although the list plugs for your car, they won't make a difference and ususally cause the engine to not run as well (so I have noticed).
Also, if your car is a '91 you won't want to use a carb and choke cleaner on the throttle body. It could affect seals or coatings in the throttle body. Get some throttle body cleaner. If you are finding that two of your cylinders are burning oil and the breather is collecting oil in it, you not only would have a problem with your oil rings but the compression rings on your pistons are worn as well causing blow-by which is compressed air in your cylinders leaking into the crankcase causing the oil to be pushed into you breather.
you should probably check your oil level every other day. Low oil pressure would cause the oil light to come on which could be a weak oil pump or worn camshaft bearings or pluged oil passeges, etc. The oil pressure sensor is normally located somewhere on the top of the engine, not the oil pan.
