nothing you put or do to your car will make it safe from theft or vandalisim, but to slow the process get a good alarm like a Clifford with a pager system, and ignition kills to help keep your baby around.

Make a fuel cutoff switch. Its real easy to do and all you have to by is wire and a switch. If I could find the instructions, I'd post them but I cant right now :(

any tricks to secure the trunk? i wanna put a fat chain with a master lock as a secondary lock..hehe

well an easy way would be to disconnect the latch handle realease from inside the car, that way you could only open it with the key.

i thought about disconnecting the latch, but someone tried prying my trunk open leaving a nice dent in my bumper.. thats y i was thinking bout puttin a chain on the inside of the trunk with a big ass lock..or maybe take out the system all together..therefore leaving nothing for them to take! :(

I had the idea of drilling through your sub box on each end and running one of those security cables through it and then locking that to the car. That way they would need some pretty strong bolt cutters to get it out and if you want to you could take it out with the key.

If you do keep your system in there be smart about it. That means don't pull into places with it on full volume. That attracts attention and thieves remember that car.

use lag bolts to secure your box to the floor and disconnect your trunk release lever and your trunk key and add a trunk release solenoid with an alarm . that way the only way to open the trunk is with the alarm

thanks for the suggestions.. i might have to go with bolting the box to the floor of the trunk becuz i have that factory alarm system. that works with my keyless entry i don't know how i would wire the trunk popper to it.. but i'll see if i can..

yeh, now i turn my volume down when i'm about to reach my destination just to keep a low pro....

another thing is to think about where you are parking your car ... and DO NOT put those silly stickers on there, telling everybody what is inside.

get some good insurance and keep the reciepts and replace it when it gets stolen... the harder you make it the harder the thieves try (the more damage occours)... also check with your insurance company for an approved alarm system... some times there picky on that...but sometimes if you get an insurance approved alarm it actually lowers your insurance....

Somebody posted in one of these forums that he knew some guy that put a bunch of razor-blades around the back off the stereo, and someone tried to snag his deck, cut themselves all to shit... I think that's pretty cool. Not only did the guy NOT get the stereo, but he got hurt in the process... Justice.

My cousin has a custom box in his trunk with 15" solo-barics in there, not something he wants stolen. I'm pretty sure that he has a car battery and a car horn hidden behind the box hooked to battery cables which are attached to short poles that look kindof like handles on the front of his box. If someone tries gabbin those handles and pullin the box out they get a good shock, AND there arms complete the circuit for the horn which makes it go off. Of course theres a swith under the carpeting to turn it off. I don't know exactly how everything is rigged but that is the basic idea of his security system.

umm....drilling into your sub box is NOT a good idea...that is a quick way to screw your sub up

How would it screw up your sub? If its the the air tight issue your talking about, thats why you fill in the edge of the hole with that foam insulation stuff, so its still air tight. And it was an idea not a full instruction sheet. You probably would have to modify it to get the best sound and not cause anything to screw up. ;)

yeah that is basically what i was thinking of....i guess that if you filled it with something that would be OK, but i personally would not mess with the sub box

The razorblades was a friend of mine. The first post is here

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47549&perpage=15&pagenumber=1

it's the second to last post at the bottom of the page, oh hell why dont I just cut and paste it

A friend of mine was pissed off because his deck kept getting stolen so he put hella razorblades and shit under the deck where you would have to put your arm in. Sure enough about two weeks later, he is walking out to his car to go somewhere and he sees blood all over his driveway. He looks inside the car and there was shit everywhere but the deck wasnt stolen. He spend 2 hours cleaning but when you think about it 2 hrs/ vs $200 is the way to go.

I found the best alarm system is to pay a bum $5 a day to go around with you wherever you go. When you park, he stays in the car with a baseball bat...waiting. :bandit:
