When the diagnostic was first run the cam positioning sensor was bad so I changed that, then the check engine light came on again so I ran another diagnostic at Auto Zone this time and they said its the #2bank catalytic converter...But the car runs fine and dosn't sound like the catalytic is plugged...could it be the O2 sensor? Or something else?

Thanks
Larry

Did AutoZone tell you the exact code number that they read? It should be in the form of "Pxxxx" where P refers to a powertrain code and the "x's" can be any combinations of numbers 0-9. The "x" following the P will be either a 0 or 1.

Diagnosing a code for a converter failure is quite a legnthly process. You need to rule out ignition problems, air intake problems, vacuum problems, fuel problems, exhaust leaks, O2 concerns and finally a problem with the converter. So as shorod states, the accurate code will help a lot in helping you. If it is a P0430, it is bank 2 converter below operating limits. need code and all the test results to diagnose. Throwing O2 sensors at it may cure for a little while, but there is a root problem that has caused the converter to fail and the code will return. Good luck.

Thanks for your help. I will look into this as I do not remember the exact code.
