:( Rats, Pocher models is dead.
I really wanted to get a couple more of their models (the price slowed me down). There are still a few out there but they are way high. There is a Ferari F-40 on ebay for around $500, but it is in Australia.

With a name like that, I'd think they were out to "poach" my money.
What kind of kits did they make? Good quality?

It was an Italian company. They Made 1/8 scale model kits and they were assembled with miniature nuts and bolts. Most of them had very detailed engines with individual pistons that moved up and down when you turn the starter crank. Most were 30's and 40's Mercedes, Alfas, and Bugattis. The wire wheels were real WIRE wheels with about 150 pieces each. Leather interiors were common. The bodies on these were plastic. They also made a series of diecast Porsche 911/933, Ferrari Testarossa, and Ferrari F-40. All in 1/8 scale. Do an ebay search with Pocher as the search string. You will be impressed. I have the 190? Fiat racer and the Alfa Romeo Spider. These were assembled years ago and have been royally screwed up by my Nephews. I will eventually refurbish them!

It's a multimedia kit with lots of working features. They are excellent models, and I wanted to have the 911(993), but my wife never let me. (sigh...)

The Testarosa, the F-40, and the Porsche 911/933 are DIECAST, not plastic.:flipa:

It's still not undoable. There are at least 10 Pocher Porsches available on Ebay. Some are under $200.00 Do a search on Ebay with Pocher as the search string. There are also a couple of trans-kits for the engine at about $35.00 that add a ton of extra detail. There are kits with the body in Blue, Yellow, or Black. Show your wife the pics, could have better "WAP" than most other kits.

wow.....that's pretty crazy. I've never heard of anything like that. It would be cool to have one of those but i'm not too familiar w/ older cars. I'm only 15. It would be cool if some company made those kind of models for more modern vehicles.......
