I see your sticking with the TBI. What throttle body and injectors are you going with? Are you going to do the tuning yourself or are you gonna have someone else do it? What are the specs on 355 and what kind of numbers are you expecting it to put down?
Sorry for all the questions but I'm really interested in your build and about what your going to do with the TBI.

don't mind the questions at all. I'll be using the holley 502-6 TBI, i don't remember the injector size off hand. I'll be getting a custom tune from tbichips.com. the block is originally out of a 77 monte. it's a 2 bolt main fully rebuilt and blueprinted. re-enforced mains, 6" forged rods, comp xfi cam, keith black hypereutectic pistons, 10.3:1 compression, aluminum brodix IK200 heads, edelbrock headers, fully rebuilt and race kitted 700r4, 2000 stall, 3.73 gearing, ls1 driveshaft, LSD, now i'm drawing a blank and can't think of anything else. both the engine machinist, who builds race engines for a living, and my desktop dyno are estimating about 425 at the crank.

Congrats!!
I know it doesn't seem like much, but progress is progress.
Believe me, I have had to use that to keep myself motivated in my own project.

because this route is a lot easier, cheaper, and has just as much ability.

It's going to sweet seeing a 400+hp TBI. Something you really might wanna look into is the Embedded Lockers, HUD, and ultimate TBI code that some of the guys at thirdgen.org are developing. It replaces the little board in the ecu where the chip pluggs in. They're working on it now and it's got some sweet features including MUCH more data transfered during datalogging and what really grabbed my attention was their auto tuning feature. It's my understanding that you can just drive and let the software do the work and it takes the data that it's recieving and makes the changes by its self giving a very good tune. They're testing it now and making what looks like the final changes and tweaking. Very sweet stuff for TBI.

and from the looks of things, i just might be able to clear the stock hood, which will save me $400+ from getting a cowl hood, and also give the car the ever loved sleeper look.

it's been off the road since the first half of 04. it's not as clean as it seems, I'm just good with the power buffer. there's a few bad spots tho, I just avoid them when taking pictures. The intake is a holley pro-jection high rise TBI intake.
