Wiper blades were frozen to the windshield. When my wife started the car the wipers were on and now when she turns the wipers off, both blades stop in the middle of the windshield instead of where there suppose to. Down under the hood. Should I just loosen the blade nuts and put them where there suppose to be? or is there a sensor that tells them to return to there
" Home " position? Or is there an actuator mis-alligned now?
Thanks in advance....

Had this same problem on my 1998 Buick Century. My wipers were stuck in the upright position too. Buick has a service bulletin out on this. It calls for the replacement of an arm assembly. The real problem is that a tab on the motor assembly gets bent and you need to straighten it out again. You have to take to wiper motor out and look at the cam assembly on the motor. You will see that the tab stop is bent and the cam assembly travels pass the tab. Rebend the tab and the cam will stop in the correct home position causing the wipers to be in the home position when you turn off the wipers.

My 98 century has the same issue. I will see if I can gain access to the motor and look at the tabs. Thanks
