t-stat question

My temp guage reads different than it should. It's supposed to read half way, but at full temp it reads a smigeon over 1/4. The needle rises from below cold, just like a normal one, except it stops there. Everything's smooth and it's done this since i got it used, but i always figured my guage was screwy.

Then i got to wondering whether or not someone put a different thermostat on there. The t-stat, looks stock and has the ford logo with serial codes, but i can't help think that somethings been messed with, because it's so consistent. By the way, the pulleys i put on haven't seemed to affect the guage, but i do mostly highway miles anyway.

Any thoughts or wisdom?

I cant speak for everyone but personally I would much rather my temp guage only climb up to a little over a 1/4 rather than all the way to 1/2 way. When my guage starts getting up to half way then I start getting worried, because that means its trying to run hot. My truck did that last night on the way home, hope its just low on coolant or something. But as far as your guage goes, do yourself a favor and leave it alone. If it aint broke dont fix it. and beleive me, it aint broke.
