How do I remove broken window clips

I have a 02 grand am with broken window clips. Ive found the clips to replace the broken ones but Im not sure how to get the old ones off? Someone told me to try acetone but I havent had much luck with it. Ive seen that other people on here have managed to replace their clips so can anyone tell me how they got the old clips off?
