I'm in the military and just found out that I'll be going back overseas next year. We bought a new Hyundai Sonata recently and I want to know if the warranty would still be in effect if the car is in Europe? Would I be able to have the car serviced at a European Hyundai dealership?

Good question, I do not see why not, so long as it passes the European emmision standards and the necessary protocols necessary to have the vehicle shipped over, I don't see why the service departments would not service your vehicle. But to be certain, just call up Hyundai Customer Service and find out.

It should be fine.
Where are you going? I know a lot of times they won't let you bring a vehicle.

Well, I don't know where I'll be going, yet. I'll actually have a choice in the matter based upon my shop's circumstances. I really want to go back to Japan, but if we go there I certainly won't ship the car. They absolutely burn you on emission test charges if you bring your car there. My old buddy took a PT Cruiser to Japan and they charged him 1500 bucks just to shove a wand up the tailpipe. All in all, it cost him about 5 grand to get that car there. I want to back, though, in order to get another Skyline. If I can't go to Japan, I'd really like to go to Europe, and if I get Germany, I'm hoping the Sonata can come along.
