Hi, I'm asking this for my dad. He is considering selling his SS S-10 and I was wondering what you guys think that might bring in for a price. It's a 1995 with 100k and is in mint condition. It is mostly bone stock as well. The paint and interior are perfect. It has the wider set of tires (I think the 235 55 16) on it. I think that may actually be the only aftermarket part on it. The rims are those of a newer SS such as the 98. Thanks for any advice.

I don't know why you'd call it an SS S10 then. But that part doesn't matter.
Since prices vary region to region the best thing to do is pick up the local papers, then look at the simular vehicles in there.
Go by their prices.
Where I live (British Columbia Canada) the bible is the Vancouver Buy and Sell.
It's free adds, but somewhere around $3.00 to buy a copy. Which is the main reason why people use it.

Thanks Mike. Now I think that I understand.
I could see a little more power, but a slightly bigger 4.3L wouldn't be listed as a 4.3L
Your right about them having 2 motors, although I don't know what the real difference is. (the heads or injection I think)
I believe that the 7th letter on the VIN is what tells you which 1 you have, but I'm not sure on this.

the HP, the SS has a bit more.. most 4.3L's have 190 the SS 4.3L's have 220 i believe.
SL3000gt, when looking up the info, choose the 4.3L High Output

a bit more hp would be 5, 10 is a fair mount, and 30 extra is a lot more power.
That's just my opinion based on the fact that I don't really notice 5hp, but 10hp is noticable and 30hp is really noticeable.

i could be wrong (hey theres a first time for anything) but 220 is what i believe i saw posted at one time. if it is 220, i wouldn't mind dropping one of those into my truck.

The S-10 SS had 180 hp, 245 lb-ft torque, 16" wheels with Goodyear Eagle's on them, sport suspension, was lowered 2 inches, and had appearance upgrades.
