There 2 litre version is only in manual transmission....
There is big difference in performance compared to WRX.
The specs mean, even the 2 litre model will have less power than Pete's civic and my sisters VTIR civic which have max power 118kw.
The WRX comes with about 155 - 160kw max power for the normal version, and over 200KW for the STI.
You have to think about whether this car is to get you from a to b, or whether its going to be like a project car or something...and where to park it....etc.

Not for the performance you get for the price.
Its a European car, thats why its expensive. Even if I wanted to go european and something more luxurious, I would prefer an Audi.
From the car research site, it has them about 35 - 40K
for that much money, I'd buy a ITR or S15

The 306 at the dyno day made 10KW at the front wheels more than I did. I just watched the dyno video of it.
This means that it's putting out the same power as Chuck, Adrian and kit did with their modified B16A's. Chuck - didn't he say it was stock?
Something is really wrong with these figures - if the 306 is making 100KW at the flywheel as Q posted, then there is no way it is getting 90.4 at the wheels - P/S, alternator and A/C would suck most of that 10KW straight away.
This is weird - I swear Croydon's figures are off
:bloated:

Different motor pete. One of the pugs had that motor and made crappy power (similar to yours :D ) The one that made similar to mine ( actually lower :D ) is listed as 120Kw at the motor or 175hp.

bastard :p
I still think they borked my dyno run though :D
I keep adding the figures up and it all comes out wrong.
Ah well - I didn't know that there were two pugs running that day - only saw one :)

I keep looking at my graph:
http://home.iprimus.com.au/cuchulainn/civic/dyno_graph.jpg
Assume they did the run in 4th gear. 3rd peaks at 8000rpm at 140 as I recollect (same as the 'tegs). So it has to be 4th. Now I've peaked the rev limiter in 4th at 180km/h as I recollect - (Chuck/Moppie, can you confirm 4th gear run out?).
Ok, on their graph it peaks at 160km/h which to me indicates that they may not have been pushing it all the way to 7300 which is peak power as I recollect. If so, maybe that's where my missing numbers are.
Chuck - dyno operators can tweak a dyno to read whatever they want - remember what the VW first did? ;p I've heard that quite often figures can be messed with based on how the car is ramped up too.

Ok........Runs were in 4th as I was tagging the limiter at the creek and that was 92 mph. On my car 1000 revs = 20 km/h. On the Dyno day mine was cutting out at 144 km/h (7200) which is spot on for limp mode. Mine is geared shorter (lower) than yours, I'm guessing.
At 140 km/h your making about 67kw and mine was making 89Kw???
When I fixed the fault and reran it on the dyno, it was the same profile map but continued to 165 km/h.
Don't like your dropoff prior to VTEC????Yuk!!!! Everyone is telling me I've got VTEC coming in to early but my graph is perfectly linear.
Your graph proves your VTEC is working but you've got something wrong with that low a power figure????? Have you ever checked your compression.......... Blocked cat........... something is WRONG!!!!!!!!!
Your profile indicates they went all the way through the rev range (even down to the 10 - 15% dropoff) but it's just way too low.............

Compression is fine when I had it tested just after I got the car (12 months ago). There's a good chance the cat/o2 sensors may be choked - not to mention I have a gut feeling that my high idle is a cold setting that runs the fuel rich - until I find a working ICV I won't know. I wish I'd got them to put a sensor up the tailpipe just to check the A/F ratio.
Only other thing is that I had to modify the new dizzy cap to seat it properly - I might get the ignition timing checked just in case it's running retarded as a result of that.

Retarded timing isn't enough. I retarded mine on the dyno as far as the bolt would let me go and only dropped 2 kws
How do your plugs look after a hard run. At the creek I was pulling the plugs after every run (old habits die hard)

In terms of 306 engines, they have one hot engien running trhough three cars, its used in the now defunct 306 GTi6 the new 206 GTi, and the bigger 406. Slightly modded in the GTi6 as it puts more power out in that guise than it does in the 206. Just a few different bits in it etc.

Plugs have a very light colouring to them - light yellowish-grey.
They are that colour when I change them every 15000km - minimal wear.
That dead spot before VTEC that you mentioned Chuck - that's where the 'tegs pull away from me as I can't get on VTEC fast enough (also where Lang's VTiR hauls me in until I get on the band again).

Well while the 2O6CC 2.0 manual is a good car, I say, go with a 3O6 GTi-6 for less cash and more rewards, hell I they even give Civic SiR's a bloody hell of a run for thier money and completley out-handles them :D :D

I LUV 205gti's. I used to travel the old road in my RS2000 and the only time I couldn't keep up with a car on that road was some refugee-from-a-racetrack 205gti. We stopped at the cafe and the thing was lush(do they still use that word)

I don't think they do.
Gut instinct is that instead of "lush", you need to insert "like", y'know" and some other words that make no sense so that no-one understands :p
Isn;t a "lush" an alcoholic? :p
205s were nice - but not in stock trim.
