99 ford taurus

I own a 99 ford taurus and I was just going down the road and it quit pulling. I checked my fluid and it was fine. Did not even smell burnt. It did not make any noise what so ever.It want do anything in any gear.It is an AX4N trans. There was a tag on the trans saying that it was a recall.If anyone could possibly help me I would appreciate it.

Service engine light on??? If it is, could indicate an electrical malfunction in the trans or related part,if not probably tow it to a reputable trans repair shop for both electrical and hydraulic tests.. It could be any of a whole lot of things.. any previous weirdness going on??? Any difference in the shift patterns??? Slipping, chattering, etc?? Sometimes something minor will happen, you'll notice it not think anything, next thing whoops
