Gutting the Cat?

I've been wondering how much a sound increase would occur if I gutted the inside of my catalytic converter on my 4.7L JGCLa. Has anyone else had any experience with this?

Your check engine light will come on unless you use a simulator for the downstream o2.also depending on the year you could have more than 1 converter

i have a 95 gc....v8 so how many cats do i have? and is there any o2 sensors in the cats for 95 and under years???

95 has one cat and no downstream o2 sensor
