supra vs stang

hey guys wandering who would win in a race were talkin about having:

me:
1989 Supra Turbo
5-Speed
Cold Air Intake
Freshly Rebuilt Engine

Him:
1998 Ford Mustang GT
5-Speed
Cold Air Intake
Mufflers

and if you say i cant beat him can you tell me what id need to beat him

I think you should be able to beat the 98 stang. The 99 and up probably not. Oh, yeah people are going to give you shit for having a will I beat this car post. Just a FYI.

i have a 86.5 n/a with the stock 4.10's in the rear and the stock limited slip i took my friends 95 with a good launch until mid 3rd but with the w58 and the 4.10's every gear is about .7 sec long id say yea youd take him by atleast a car.

welcome, there is a young man in here with almost the same car as yours, but i believe he is n/a, try asking him how to make the supras faster if you see him, i believe he has a pic of his supra in his sig, so it should be easy to spot him. Also, i know someone with the 7mgt like yours, very nice engine, the supra responds very well to bolt ons, try that

non-turbo 7mge doesn't respond well to bolt ons

You will most likely beat him, especially if it is from a roll, as your car is really heavy. Your year of supra runs low 15's stock, same as that year stang, but your car traps higher.

i beg to differ i believe he will have him from both a roll and a dig supras sqaut and go thanks to IRS but if his car has tems or coil overs (non tems) he wont get enough sqaut to throw the camber off to where he will just spin he will hook and be gone with the proper launch.

rice if your talking about projectsupra he has a totaly diffrent motor its a 1g-gte (2.0 DOHC twin turbo inline 6) but yes he is very knowlageble about supras :)

i myself have 2 mk3 supras 86.5 and a 87 both n/a 1 hard top and 1 targa both 5spd these will be my 3rd and 4th supras ive owned following a turbo 5spd and a n/a auto. (just letting you know im not blowing smoke)

just remmeber to hit your shifts right dont blow a headgasket and launch her perfect and you should have it ;) best of luck bring it home for the 7m!
