1988 s10 wont start

Hey all, I just got a 1988 s10 from my brother in law. He told me that not long ago it sounded like it wasn't ruinning on all cylindars, then one day, he went to move it and it wouldn't start, and if it did start, it wouldn't run for very long.

I checked it out today and i started it, but it only ran for like 10 seconds then quit, after that, it wouldn't catch. It keeps wanting to turn over, but wont.

its got a V6, and its fuel inected, is it a fuel prob?

When you turn the key to "run", can you hear the fuel pump? It should run for a few seconds as it primes and builds pressure. Is the pump putting out the correct fuel pressue? You'll need test gear for this... Sounds silly, but what about the fuel filter? Has it ever been replaced? Was the truck used on a daily basis before you got it? If it had been sitting for a long time it could have a lot of water in the tank.

tune up. cap, rotor, plugs and wires, check coil, fuel filter, air filter. check for vaccum leaks. need to check fuel pressure and clean trottlebody.
