I have a 1998 GTP and my Performance shift wires were pinched off at the plug somehow. When I went to look for a new plug for them they told me I'd have to buy a whole new shifter and it would cost $350. That didnt sound right though. Where can I get one for cheap, none of the junk yards around here have one.

Try contacting Ed Morad at Moradpartscompany.com. He specializes in 3800 GM products and you should be able to get one at a reasonable cost. Also check his e-bay store, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/97-03-Pontiac-Grand-Prix-GTP-Console-Shifter-Assembly_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33736QQitemZ80 31994771QQtcZphoto

www.pfyc.com has an adapter kit for the cars without one, but im sure you could use it... it is just the shifter with the button and a few wires I think, pluss its like $150 no where near the $350 you were quoted
