projector headlights

Ok I got some projector headlights for my 91 hb. I was wondering if anyone can help me with telling me how to hook them up. I'm thinking I might know how but I'm not sure. There are 3 sets of wires coming form the back of the headlights. 2 of the sets have plug-ins on them. Where do these plug-ins go? I was thinking where the original headlights plug into. The last set is a red and black wire. The instructions say to hook them up to the side marker lamp.

Yes, the connectors just plug right into your stock harnesses... The red/black wires those are for the angel eye part of the headlights... Take the black wire and just run to a decent ground (just strip the end of it, and bolt it down under one of the 10mm headlight bolts on the top), run the red wire to the corner light as it says, and splice into the positive wire (forgot which it is exactly)... And when u turn on your parking lights they should light up... Dont expect those to last long tho, theyre just LEDs on a ring, which LEDs are supposed to last a long time but those burn out quick for some reason...

so if the angel eye part of the headlight burns out will the headlights still work without them?

I think they LEDs burn out because the voltage is too high or something (I dont know much about voltage, amps, w/e). I know I've tried hooking up LEDs directly to my computer and they'd burn out in a few moments. You're supposed to have a resistor to regulate the current or something. If you look at those "bulbs" with LEDs that can be used in our turn signals, etc. they have resistors in them.

and yes your halos are not needed for the functionality of the actual headlight.

They are supposed to have an inline resistor yes, in fact they do have one built in... Otherwise they would blow as soon as you turn them on... Basically like plugging them upto your 12v computer power supply... But I dont think they are the proper impedence, I think for a 12v power source a 2.2k impedence is the proper one, not sure which they are using... If you do want them to work on your computer power supply, buy a 2.2k Ohm resistor and try it, they will last much longer... And dont forget to use the yellow wire in the power supply, the red is only 5volts, black wires are ground...

And yes, once the LEDs stop working your headlights will be fine... The angel eye effect with just stop working...
