No respect for V6 or Fox body

I just saw a post on how the Fox body Mustangs are so disrespected. I agree. But the V6 Mustang is probably disrespected even more.
I feel that people love the Fox body 5.0L engine, but strongly dislike the body. And I feel that people like the body of the 99-04 V6, but hate the engine. I don't think people realize the potential in both.
Have you ever seen a '93 Cobra? Gorgeous cars in my opinion. And I see the potential that most Fox body Mustangs have. Obviously the Fox body owners see the same thing. Have you ever seen a properly modded Ford 3.8L base model Mustang engine? It is actually impressive the numbers they put up. And new 3.8L performance parts are coming out everyday!
Our problem is that our cars are easy to hate. Our challenge? Earning the respect. I've modded my V6 Mustang and I am not afraid to say that I will take A LOT of GT owners. And let's get this straight...I AM NOT HATING. I love the GTs. I'm just saying I've spent the money and put in the wrench time and have built myself a pretty damn fast V6. Can I take every GT that comes my way? Of course not.
The problem is you get a lot of kids running around in stock V6's talking trash on everybody. I hate that! It seems like everybody has a reason to hate. Although I have a V6, I get along great with Fox body and GT owners in my area. Even if I randomly meet them in a parking lot, I'll introduce myself and we get along great. You want to know why? Because we both spent a lot of time on our cars and appreciate the work that went into them. I get compliments from Mustang GT owners all the time. I've even based some of my build up on previous GT build ups.
All in all, I just think that the V6 Mustang should be respected more...a lot more. Same goes for the Fox body Mustangs. I am living proof that the V6 has potential.
If anybody has anything to add, please do. Especially if you're a V6 or Fox body owner.

I love the fox body stangs/capris. Prefer the notch backs for the stangs. But 5.0 is the name! When people see or hear V6, they're like .. pffft get away with that crap! Stangs are suppose to be performers and people don't easily see them as just a daily driver, they gotta have the V8! or it's not worth the time, so if they have a 2.3 or 3.8, noone cares.. just automatically labeled a poser wannabe.
So what if people diss the 6 banger. It's not exactly intended to be a rocket. But if someone dumps some cash into the 6cyl or 4cyl whatever, customizing it and getting some results.. cool. It's the posers who run around in their underpowered models thinking they're king of the road that start the stereotype.
Same thing with Imports, the guys who toss a fart can and wing on a economy car and then think they're the fastest guy out there. Then the guys with the sporty imports, like prelude SR-V.. etc etc get dumped on for being 'rice'. Meanwhile an SR-V would probably whoop a stock 5.0 stang. But the majority of people out there don't know this, and just go to their default 'rice' 'poser' mode to be cool around their buddies. Everything is about image.
But don't be ashamed of what you have, if you have a built 6cyl that can play with the 5.0's.. right on! When you pull up in the parking lot after some playing and he leans over and asks what you have.. you say.. just a little 6 banger.. maybe next time you'll keep up!
Around here the Fox Mustangs are welcomed and nice to see patroling around hunting for prey. They just have that presence. Pretty much every 5.0 is modded and they turn my head, and usually there's a Camaro or Import buzzing around them egging them on to race. 5.0's are the mark around here. Sadly enough, 6 banger stangs aren't worth anyone's time and are just seen as a daily driver. But I'm sure if a fast one came along, it would get alot of attention.
I once owned a 1982 Mercury Capri 5.0, what a blast that car was. Keeping tread on the rear tires was a challenge. When you can buy a car for 1500$ and have enough torque to tow a truck and still beat a camaro, you know you got it made. That car had the rattles, vibrations and smells of pure fun! Personally, I woudn't buy a Fox without a V8, unless I had plans to drop a V8 in. It's just what they are! A smooth running 6 just isin't what a Mustang is! But a mean 6 that toys with the bad boys would definitely get my attention and respect aswell as many others.

very true. I know teh v6 in teh stangs have a lot of potential (and can be damn lethal when bored to 4.2's) but its the fact every HS kid thinks they are fast just because it says MUSTANG on it that gives it a bad rep.
