I'm new to the forum. I'm looking into turbo charging my 2000 G20t. I'm not sure if all the other posts were referring to the earlier models ('91 - '96) or the later models. Unfortunately, I have an automatic (I live in LA and traffic is a bitch:bloated: ). Can anyone tell me if it's at all possible. Where can I get it, how much and are there any risks or problems associated. Thanks!

O.K. I lied, It's b/c I got such a good deal on my car as is. See you at Moroso!!!

BruinG20 - if you do more reading on this forum, u'll know that i am putting in my turbo engine, SR20DET into my 1999 G20 sometime next week. if you are looking to turbo your car, get the engine...it's the best way. all the turbo kits will cost you around$3k for the part plus labor to put in...a DET motor from me is $1500 (no shipping since you are in s.cal and u can come to pick up) and i can refer you to some top tuners such as SP Engineering to do the job.
if you have questions, let us know...there are lots of knowledgable people in this forum to hlep you out.

G22DET... thanks for your reply. What exactly is involved in installing a DET motor? And why is it so cheap? I'm interested in doing it so I would appreciate any info you can provide. I'll look around the forum in the meantime for any discussion of it.

it's not exactly "cheap"...the whole project will cost you in the neighborhood of $4500-$5000. The motor itself is not very costly but you need to consider labor, all the other parts you need to get such as a front mount intercooler, gauges, fuel controllers...etc. but its definitely worth the money once everything gets done

Ouch! that hurts. I simply don't have that much to spare, but it would have been real nice. I think I'll put some more miles on my sluggish engine first, I hardly have any mileage on it. Maybe I'll just wait for the G35, too bad it looks nothing the like the G20.
